Plain-language privacy notice
Your study data is yours.
Template last updated 20 August 2026. Replace the contact details and have this notice reviewed for your jurisdiction before launch.
Without an account
Study settings and aggregate activity are stored only in your browser’s local storage. They do not leave your device unless you choose to sign in.
When you sign in
Google authenticates you through Supabase Auth. HanziSpace receives your account identifier, email address, and basic profile details. It stores per-card answers, session identifiers, response time, and preferences in Supabase so your progress can sync. Database row-level security limits each account to its own study records.
Suggestions
Signed-in users can submit a card identifier, category, and message. Suggestions are visible only to the submitter and site administrators. Do not include sensitive personal information.
Advertising and consent
Advertising is disabled by default. If the owner enables it, the ad script loads only after the visitor actively consents in this browser. A production launch in regions including the EEA may require a certified consent-management platform and an updated vendor list.
Retention and your choices
Anonymous browser data can be erased by clearing site data. Signed-in users can request export or deletion of their cloud data by contacting hello@example.com. The site owner should document a concrete retention period before launch.
